This course is aimed at all those who work with children and young people, ensuring that they have the vital knowledge to promote the welfare of those in their care and keep them safe from harm.
Keeping children and young people safe should be a priority for everyone in Education and Schools. In order to do this effectively all staff must understand their role in safeguarding children and young people from harm and should be confident and competent in doing so.
The Keeping Children Safe in Education (2019) states that schools must train all staff to understand their safeguarding policy and procedures, and ensure that all staff have up to date knowledge of safeguarding issues to ensure children are safeguarded from harm.
In line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education and the Governance Handbook (Sept 2019), this course covers the signs of possible abuse and neglect at the earliest opportunity and how to respond in a timely and appropriate way.
